Luxury British fashion brand Guinea was founded in 2017, by Judie Cutting. Judie’s aim was to make women look and feel good in every design she created, with each piece exuding quintessential British class. Judie believes British style has a “specific and recognisable feel and heritage, that is enigmatic, yet distinct.” It is important to Judie that she creates pieces that are versatile, will last for a lifetime, and yet never date, attributing equestrian sports to much of her inspiration.

Fabrics & Sustainability
Both quality and sustainability are at the forefront of Judie’s designs, many of which are made from a multitude of natural fibres, such as pure wool and silk. Most of the wool is both sourced and woven in Yorkshire, England, where again, sustainability is an integral part of the business. The looms in the mill are solar powered, and any by-products of the process, such as loom oil, is recycled. Textile waste is also kept to a minimum, as offcuts are used in manufacturing fabrics, such as bedding. Guinea London describes wool as “the ultimate sustainable textile” as it is a natural fibre, that is completely biodegradable. Wool also requires far less energy to produce than synthetic fibres and does not release harmful microfibres into the environment.
Quality doesn’t stop at materials
Every factory Guinea works with is inspected before production, to ensure they meet Guinea’s standards. Small production runs by the manufacturers also ensures there is less waste, as every metre of cloth is used up and there is nothing thrown away. By focusing on the quality at every aspect of the manufacturing and production cycle, Guinea aims to achieve their goal of being a slow fashion brand.

Marianne Cashmere Coat
Many of Guinea London’s coats and jackets are designed to be more flattering through their distinctive design features. For example, the addition of a tie-belt on the Marianne Cashmere Coat means the wearer can easily cinch in their waist. The Marianne Cashmere Coat is a relaxed ft, longer length coat that sits just below the knee. The coat is made from 100% cashmere and features a detachable Mongolian lamb’s wool collar and cuffs, allowing the coat to keep you warm on those cold evenings.

The Puffer Gilet is down padded, yet lightweight, and features side panels that help sculpt and shape the body. The gilet has a dipped hem at the back, and a detachable fur collar which instantly oozes glam when worn! Gold Guinea branded zips provide the finishing touches.
