Clare Haggas Country Silk Accessories
7th February 2022
Clare Haggas
Self-taught wildlife artist and designer, Clare Haggas, started her art journey at the age of 40, drawing and painting as a hobby. It wasn’t until 2017 that Clare had a lightbulb moment when she could not find a scarf that was both elegant and vibrant, and therefore decided to put her own artwork on silk and later other materials, and produce her own accessories. It was by chance that it was made possible, when she bumped into a man who had a silk printing business, and helped her turn her dreams into reality.
Clare’s artworks are fully of energy, which is a result of the sheer passion and love she has for her job and is inspired by her personal journey

Based in rural Lincolnshire, Clare finds her inspiration in the surrounding countryside, where she is surrounded by pheasants, deer, owls and hares. Clare describes her artwork as ‘traditional, but with a modern twist’. Clare’s artworks are fully of energy, which is a result of the sheer passion and love she has for her job. She won the Midlands’ Best Rural Start Up and Best Rural Retailer category and came runner up in the Best Rural Arts, crafts and artisan category. Twillies
The Twillie is one of the newest additions to Clare Haggas’ wonderful collection. Clare described the “Twillies”, or Ribbon Scarves, as possibly the most versatile and easy to wear design not only in her collection, but on the entire market. Clare created the twillie in order to offer her customers a timeless and exquisite piece, that can be paired with almost anything in their wardrobe. Clare launched her twillies in her iconic Game Bird design, as they are a signature piece of art that she is well known for.
Clare’s twillies are longer than other brands on the market, meaning they are more than just a scarf and can be worn in a multitude of ways. As of yet, Clare has released three twillie designs, each of which are reversible and therefore offer six colour options in total. Clare suggests wearing the twillies:
• Tied in your hair
• As a wrist band or bracelet
• On your handbag as a glamours accessory
• As a stylish belt on jeans
• With a fedora or straw hat as a hat band
• As a headscarf or headband

George & Friends Wool/Silk Classic Style Wrap
Silk has always been Clare’s passion, however, she wanted to offer her customers something more delicate, but just as luxurious, and hence, the wool / silk style wrap was born.
The wraps are made from 60% wool and 40% silk, and feature a fringed edge so the design remains soft, yet feminine. Clare believes there is no need to style or tie the wraps, they can simply be draped over a jacket or shirt, or even a coat in the Autumn months. You can add a glamorous finishing touch to your Clare Haggas scarf or wrap with a Clare Haggas scarf ring, available in silver, gold or rose gold.
